Assistant Distiller

Devil's Keep Distillery, Fredericton New Brunswick's first craft distillery, is adding an Assistant Distiller to our talented, energetic, and creative production team. This opportunity will allow the individual to not only work on recreating our current recipes, but also assist in the creation of the new product lines we're looking to offer our customers. This truly is an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of one of the newest distilleries in New Brunswick! We're after a self-starter, who works well with others, and wants to join us from the start on what is sure to be an exciting journey!


Essential Duties and Responsibilities to include (but are not limited to):

  • Milling, mashing, fermenting, and distilling vodka, gin, whisky, and more!
  • Transferring of mash, fermentations, high wines, etc.
  • Distillation on both our 100L still and our soon to be acquired 400L Stills
  • Daily quality assurance/quality control responsibilities
  • Inventory management and record keeping
  • Receipt of raw materials
  • Research and Development/Recipe formulation
  • Proofing, blending, barreling and bottling of spirits
  • Cleaning and sanitation of distilling, brewing, and bottling equipment


Applicant Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate or Graduate degree in chemistry required
  • 1-3 years of previous distilling or brewing experience preferred (but not required)
  • Experience in the beverage industry, with a passion for craft beverages in particular
  • Proven ability to work with little to no supervision
  • Be precise and detail oriented
  • Willing to work some long hours, including weekends and occasional evenings

Candidates should be physically fit (ability to lift and/or move at least 50 lbs) and be able to work flexible hours and shifts. We are looking for the right individual to join our team and would be open to various starting dates based on prior commitments (i.e. graduation from post secondary education).
